Mac

Mac

Color:               DSH Orange and White

Born:                Approx. Sept 12, 2023
Gender:           Neutered Male, microchipped

History:

Mac was a little stray cat in a small town outside of Lethbridge. We named him Mac (Macadamia) just in cast he is related to the Nut Family kittens that we rescued a couple of summers ago in the same area. We have not been able to catch the original Nut Family's mother (we tried for a whole year to trap her!) but she is still seen from time to time in the same neighbourhood. Mac reminds us of Brazil (Nut Family) so that made us ponder a possible familial connection. He was ravenous when brought in which shows he'd gone without food for a few days.

Personality:

Mac is a recent rescue (April 12, 2023) and has been health checked, double vaccinated and neutered. After his quarantine, his integration began. A few weeks in, he is still a little reticent around other cats, but has made at least one friend, Loki (who just happens to love everybody) and is working on another, Lola. However, Mac did not have to learn to love people. Foster mom calls him "my velcro child". He adores people. He can sometimes become a little overstimulated and nip but calm redirection corrects this very common behaviour. It usually stops as they grow out of kittenhood. Mac sleeps tucked-in beside foster mom (not curled up, elongated), head on her arm or pillow and appreciates being covered with a little blankie if the bedroom's chilly. "He's such a good little boy" says foster mom.
