Katia
Katia
Color: DSH All Tabby
Born: August 15, 2024
Gender: Spayed female (microchipped)
History:
Katia, her brother, Mordecai, and their mom, Cassie, were living rough in a hamlet in southern Alberta. They were brought to our attention in mid December, 2024, when the kittens were five months old. The person who was providing food and shelter was eventually able to capture them all, several days apart. The kittens were shy and had never been handled; however, mom, Cassie, has tamed up too quickly to have not had a previous home.
Personality:
Katia is still a bit of a ‘hold out’ in her family, not caring for now to be petted or held. Her capture was a bit more traumatic than her brother and mom, and took place a few days later. It's likely she was upset, wondering where her family gone. Soon enough they were reunited. Once she is in a person’s hands, Katia, though frightened, doesn’t fight or scratch. We were worried about how she would behave during her first veterinary visit. While she wanted to run, she was co-operative, and let the doctor do what she needed. There was no aggression or hostility to her whatsoever. Katia will come to people now if tempted with treats. We will continue to update her progress.
Like her mother and brother, Katia is a ball of energy when it comes to playing. Whether it is with her sibling or her mom, Katia loves to romp and wrestle, chase and jump. And other cats? She has several friends who were strangers when she and her family arrived. A home with another exuberant cat or two would be ideal for this one. Katia has very good hygiene, taught well by her mother.
