Valkyrie

Do you like kittens? Do you like their playfulness? Their energy? Their boundless curiosity? If you do, we have the kitten for you! Valkyrie is a kitten - and then some!

At seven months of age (as of this writing), Valkyrie combines all the cuteness of a kitten with the drive of a juvenile. She loves to be on the go. She is more likely to run somewhere than walk, and there is always somewhere for her to be.

Playfulness? Valk loves to play! The string-toy is a favourite. She will chase it, leap (high!) to catch it, fight it on the floor. And if another cat is interested in the string-toy, well, Valkyrie doesn’t pay any mind; he mind is too focussed on the toy to give attention to any other cat’s claim. Rolling balls, fuzzy mice - especially on uncarpetted floors, where they slide, bits of cardboard, a dust-bunny: anything is a toy to Valkyrie. But she also loves having a playmate. Older cats, younger kittens: if they run or wrestle, they can be Valkyrie’s pal. A common sight in her foster-home is a couple of blurs racing past; which was Valkyrie and which her friend, and who was chasing whom, who knows? And wrestling? Oh, yeah, a good tussle is always fun, no matter the size of the ‘opponent’.

As for curiosity, if a drawer or cupboard opens, Valk’s there. Running water? Oh yeah! Whatcha eatin’? What’s that noise? Did you see that outside? It’s all grist for Valkyrie’s ever-churning mind. And on that subject, she’s smart; a fast-learner, she’ll be a step ahead of where you think she should be.

But, at last, she tires out, and will fold herself up for a snooze. Then again, if she sees you sitting down, she might decide that your lap is the perfect spot. She may off again in a minute, of course, or she may fall asleep for half an hour.
