Phoenix
Phoenix
Color: DSH Black & White
Age: Born approx. March 2007
Gender: Neutered Male
History:
Phoenix's days were numbered. He was at the city animal shelter. The story of how he ended up there is not known. Like so many other adult, unneutered males, Phoenix was passed by many times by people looking for a cat. However, in October,2006, when one young customer saw this big boy, she thought he was the perfect cat for her! When she heard that his time was almost up at the shelter, she made the decision to purchase him. His life was spared. Unfortunately she was not in a stable living arrangement and the very next month, she felt she had no choice but to take the cat to her parent's house with the promise that her new cat would only be staying there temporarily. When it began to look like Phoenix would be in the parent's already busy pet household for much longer than expected, PAW was contacted to see if there was a chance we could take in just one more.
Personality:
Well, one thing is for sure, he is a dandy! He is incredibly sweet and affectionate. Before he was neutered, he had very large jowls, but several months later, his headis a more normal size. However, he is still a big brawny boy...but one that loves to be babied. He especially enjoys being held and gently rocked. He was graduallyintegrated into the foster home with three other cats and a dog. His foster mom feels he has done exceptionally well. His primary relationships are with people. It is difficult to get a picture of him with his eyes open, because he anticipates the flash and closes them every time! Phoneix has waited a long time for a spot to come open in one of the PAW adoption centres. We would love to see him adopted directly from his foster home. We always feel a little more protective of cats that have been through an animal shelter experience. If you would like more information about Phoenix, please call PAW 328-6700 and we will put you in contact with his foster mom.
