Cammie

Adopted!

Color:       Blue Point Siamese Cross
Age:         Adult
Gender:   Spayed Female

History:
Cammie came from a disadvantaged background and was accepted into the PAW program in June, 2013, at the urgent request of a concerned friend of the family she lived with.  She is about eight years old and, although she had obviously been provided with the basics, we know little was offered in the way of friendship. Despite not being spayed, she had always been kept indoors and has never had kittens. Now she is spayed and vaccinated and lives in a PAW foster home.

Personality:
Cammie is not a timid cat. She loves to explore her foster-home, looking into all the rooms she can, probing closets and climbing cat-trees. She loves her canned food and trots out to the kitchen to wait when her foster caregiver prepares it, tolerating the presence of her feline roommates to do so. She has a desire to be great friends with people, but she needs time to trust them, and that can come only at her own pace. Cammie won’t be rushed, and needs the patience and understanding of a person who will let this wonderful cat decide when and where to give her affection. But when that affection is given, it will be a tremendous reward for all the time allowed for it to grow. Cammie has learned the joys of lying on a lap, being stroked and petted and fussed
over, and once her trust is given, her guard is down. Cammie would do well as a single cat, the sole object of her person’s attention; however, she adapts well to a multi-cat household - if provided with more of that precious time. She
prefers to pick her own feline friends, as much as her human ones, and will tell this in her own way to those whom she’s not ready to know. But Cammie is not an aggressive cat. She will stand up for herself, but has never started a fight. In fact, she dislikes trouble and noise, whatever its source. The human who gets the chance to befriend Cammie will be lucky indeed.

Remember: it's not what we already know about a cat, it's what yet to discover that makes the experience so deeply rewarding.
